- 9:30 AM Meeting called to order – Dunkley second the motion

- Fire truck reported in good working condition – Donated truck will be provided at conclusion of Travis completing audit

- New Business:
- Firewise Update – Introduction of Tim McFarlan WCAA Committee Member
- Recognition of Lauren, founding member of Walker Firewise, who recently passed away.
- Walker joined Yavapai Firewise in 2010–2012; now 40 communities in Prescott area.
- Benefits of Firewise participation:
- Priority access to mitigation grants
- Strength in numbers for funding
- MPA would join as an extension of Walker Firewise.
- Requirements:
- Form a Firewise committee
- Administrative workload involved
- Randy is a certified Firewise assessor
- Grants:
- Volunteer hours are critical — track and submit
- Chip & Haul hours count
- Major cost is hauling.
- Last year: 59 roll-offs, costing $30,000.
- Grant funding reduced to $3,000 this year.
- WFVD and WCA want to continue the program — donations encouraged.
- Free Firewise home assessments available (sign‑up sheet provided)
- Assessments include zones 1–3, home attributes, before/after photos, scoring
- Homeowners pay contractors; reimbursement comes later through Firewise and partner agencies
- Backlog expected due to high volume in Walker
- Firewise is independent of insurance
- Fire Chief Update
- Fire truck running well and fully serviced.
- Firehouse water tank full.
- Social committee supplies stored in container; Steve will be cleaning it out.
- Burn permits required; must notify authorities when burning — fines possible for non‑compliance. Burn Permit link is on the Home Page
